    Mobile Outreach & Youth Outdoors Volunteers

    Mobile Outreach Assistant

    Volunteers support Mobile Outreach by assisting with family educational prgrams such as Lunch & Learn, Urban Line Dancing and African Drum Circles. Mobile Outreach Assitants also support Naturetracks and EcoExplorers outreach programs.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Age: 18 and older
    • Time Commitment: 10 hours a year to remain an active CMP volunteer
    • Ability to appropriately interact with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds
    • Encourage a positive and welcoming environment

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with events both indoors and outdoors
    • Encourage participation in activities
    • Assist with set-up and breakdown of events

    Youth Outdoors Outing Assistant

    Volunteers support Youth Outdoors as outings assistants, helping young adventurers learn new skills and discover nature.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Age: 18 and older
    • Time Commitment: 10 hours a year to remain an active CMP volunteer
    • Ability to appropriately interact with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds
    • Willingness to participate in and learn outdoor recreation skills, such as hiking, fishing and canoeing
    • Demonstrated passion for the outdoors, which includes the ability and interest to encourage youth involvement in the activities

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with outings, activities and events provided by Youth Outdoors
    • Assist with preparation, presentation and clean-up of programs, equipment, supplies and food
    • Encourage a personal connection with the natural world
    • Model appropriate behaviors for a safe and educational learning experience as well as for the respect and care of natural resources
    • Respond to hazardous situations or potentially unsafe conditions by taking appropriate corrective actions and keeping Youth Outdoors staff informed
