Mobile Outreach Assistant
Volunteers support Mobile Outreach by assisting with family educational prgrams such as Lunch & Learn, Urban Line Dancing and African Drum Circles. Mobile Outreach Assitants also support Naturetracks and EcoExplorers outreach programs.
REQUIREMENTS
- Age: 18 and older
- Time Commitment: 10 hours a year to remain an active CMP volunteer
- Ability to appropriately interact with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds
- Encourage a positive and welcoming environment
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with events both indoors and outdoors
- Encourage participation in activities
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of events
Youth Outdoors Outing Assistant
Volunteers support Youth Outdoors as outings assistants, helping young adventurers learn new skills and discover nature.
REQUIREMENTS
- Age: 18 and older
- Time Commitment: 10 hours a year to remain an active CMP volunteer
- Ability to appropriately interact with youth and adults from diverse backgrounds
- Willingness to participate in and learn outdoor recreation skills, such as hiking, fishing and canoeing
- Demonstrated passion for the outdoors, which includes the ability and interest to encourage youth involvement in the activities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with outings, activities and events provided by Youth Outdoors
- Assist with preparation, presentation and clean-up of programs, equipment, supplies and food
- Encourage a personal connection with the natural world
- Model appropriate behaviors for a safe and educational learning experience as well as for the respect and care of natural resources
- Respond to hazardous situations or potentially unsafe conditions by taking appropriate corrective actions and keeping Youth Outdoors staff informed
