Youth Outdoors supports healthy and active lifestyles by connecting our community to the green spaces in and around the city of Cleveland.
Program participants learn valuable life skills in making decisions, developing interests, communicating thoughts and feelings, making healthy lifestyle choices, and fulfilling responsibilities to others in their community all while experiencing that beautiful natural areas in our city.
Free programing is offered year-round, and all equipment is provided. Youth Outdoors programs meet all current safety guidelines.
Youth Outdoors staff work directly with youth-serving organizations to develop programming that best suits the organization's and youth’s needs. Core activities include hiking, biking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, camping, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, team building activities, nature exploration, service projects and more.

The Youth Outdoors Fellowship Program is designed for individuals ages 14 to 18 who are interested in discovering career pathways in parks and recreation.

With the support of Cleveland Metroparks staff, volunteer assistants help provide hands-on outdoor experiences for youth. We are always grateful for those individuals who are able to commit to helping our young adventurers learn new skills, discover nature and better themselves.
