Take part in the international night of storytelling. Join a
community of storytelling enthusiasts for a night of plot twists,
pithy remarks and creative perspectives. The international night of
storytelling takes place throughout a 24-hour cycle. Stories start
in new time zones as the evening marches westward.
Tellabration! began as an idea J.G. Pinkerton had in 1988 where
for one night a year, friends and family would get together to tell
stories. The idea caught on quickly, and by 1990 Tellabration! was
a national event sponsored by the National Storytelling
Association. In 1995, the idea was carried over to Japan and
shortly thereafter became an international event which is held on
every continent except Antarctica.
Storytelling is a way for people to connect across the world. It
is a way to share experiences, create friendships and remind us of
our common humanity.
CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East
49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal
Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga
Heights.
