Alerts & Closures

Current list of Cleveland Metroparks' location-specific closures and restrictions:

Lakefront Reservation

• July 27, 2026 - Mandel Community Trail between E. 55th Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.
  Reason for Closure: Full trail closure at all entrance drives between E. 55th St. and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. due to construction of new concrete crosswalks at these locations. Trail users should plan alternatives to use of the trail crossings at these driveway locations.
• Ongoing - Beginning July 7, 2026 - Mandel Community Trail between E. 55th and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will have intermittent full or partial trail closures and disruptions during construction of Mandel Community Trail improvements between E. 55th Street and Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. The expected reopening date is September 7, 2026.
• Beginning March 26, 2026 - Gordon Park - South will be closed for construction. Expected to reopen in Summer 2027.

Mill Stream Run Reservation

• July 20, 2026 -  The northbound lane from S Quarry Lane to the Wallace Lake driveway exit will be closed for road work between 7:00am till 2:00pm. Expected to be completed by Friday, July 24.

North Chagrin Reservation

• Beginning July 25, 2026 - Squire's Castle Area will be closed to vehicles from 6 a.m., Saturday, July 25 - 11 a.m., Sunday, July 26 for the annual Squire's Castle Family Campout. Cleveland Metroparks will be utilizing the parking lot, pavilion, ballfield, and castle yard for this event.
• Beginning September 26, 2026 - Squire's Castle Area will be closed to vehicles from 6 a.m., Saturday, September 26 - 11 a.m., Sunday, September 27 for the annual Squire's Castle Family Campout. Cleveland Metroparks will be utilizing the parking lot, pavilion, ballfield, and castle yard for this event.

Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

• Lights are out at along the Towpath Trail from Holmden Avenue to Canal Basin Park.

Rocky River Reservation

• The hill within Little Met Golf Course does not contain sanctioned trails and is therefore off limits to public access. 

South Chagrin Reservation

• Beginning November 3, 2025 - Hawthorn Parkway between Harper and Cannon Road will be closed for bridge maintenance. Expected reopening is October 6, 2026.

Washington Reservation

• Beginning October 15, 2024 – The Arborview Picnic Shelter will have limited parking and access to picnic shelter, playground facility and general ground for a Northeast Ohio Sewer District Construction project. Expected completion is August 31, 2028.

West Creek Reservation

• West Ridgewood Dr. Between State Road and Broadview Road is closed for bridge replacement on West Ridgewood Drive. West Creek Reservation and the Watershed Stewardship Center are accessible from Broadview Road coming from the East on West Ridgewood Road. Detour directions: If coming to the Park on West Ridgewood from the west, Follow the detour signs north on State Road, turn right (East) on Snow Road, turn Right (South) on Broadview Road, turn right (West) on West Ridgewood Road. Expected reopening is September 2026.
