Boo at the Zoo returns to Cleveland Metroparks Zoo Thursdays through Sundays from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning October 2 through October 26. Stroll through the Zoo’s decorated paths, enjoy our Halloween-themed experiences, the Boomerang train and more.
Enjoy trick-or-treating at more than a dozen candy stations on Wayside Furniture Way, meet-and-greets with costumed characters, dance the Monster Mash Dance Party presented by CrossCountry Mortgage and enjoy free rides on the Boomerang train courtesy of MetroHealth. Boo at the Zoo runs from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays in October from October 2 - October 26 as a separate, evening ticketed experience with the exception of Friday, October 24th, on which the event is not available due to Howl-O-Ween Bash. The first 1,000 guests each night receive a complimentary trick-or-treat bag courtesy of Meijer.
Guests with Boo at the Zoo tickets can participate in a variety of activities as part of the experience such as:
Eagle Zip Adventure will be open for guests that dare to ride the zipline. This attraction is not included in the price of a Boo at the Zoo ticket and must be purchased separately on-site.

What is admission to the event?
The cost for Boo at the Zoo is $20 for Zoo members and $22 for non-members per individual tickets. Zoo members can purchase a 4-Pack bundle of tickets for $69 while non-members can purchase the 4-Pack bundle for $77. The 4-Pack bundle works for guests of all ages. All four people must be present at the same time to gain entry. The price includes a non-refundable transaction fee of $1.00 per ticket that will be added at check-out for all online ticket purchases. Tickets can also be purchased on the same day at the Box Office. Children under 2 years of age are free. Children ages 2 and older and all adults must have an event ticket for entry.
The Box Office closes at 3:00 p.m. in October but will reopen at 5:00 p.m. to sell walk-up Boo at the Zoo tickets until 8:00 p.m.
What if I bought a ticket but I haven’t gotten it yet?
Guests should receive eTickets within 15 minutes of their online purchase. If they do not, guests should check their Spam/Clutter/Junk folders. Ticket orders from the Zoo are emailed from noreply-zoosales@clevelandmetroparks.com Try searching for that sender in your inbox. Guests that still cannot locate their purchase in their email can call the Zoo at 216.635.3391 to have their tickets resent. Guests can also check in at the Guest Resource Center upon arrival to have hard-copy tickets printed.
Guests may also retrieve their own online ticket order by going back to the online store and clicking MENU in the top left corner and then selecting “Order Lookup”. Past online order history can be retrieved by entering the email address and phone number used during the original purchase process.
Guests can now add their tickets to their virtual wallets. Please make sure to add EACH ticket.
How do members get their discounted tickets?
Members should log in to the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo website using the email and password associated with their membership. Once logged in correctly, members can access the reduced-price ticket from the "Member Tickets" section of the webstore. If you have any questions regarding your Membership, you may contact Cleveland Zoological Society between 9 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. at 216.635.3329.
Are there discounts for children?
Children under 2 enter the Zoo and Boo at the Zoo for free. Ages 2 and up require a ticket.
Do parents need a ticket?
Yes, everyone attending Boo at the Zoo must purchase a ticket for entry.
Should we bring our own candy bags?
Yes, we encourage participants to bring their own reusable bags. The first 1,000 guests each night receive a complimentary trick-or-treat bag courtesy of Meijer.
Will you have treats for kids that are allergic and/or cannot have candy?
Yes, Wayside Furniture Way will have a variety of treats for guests with individual needs.
Will there be food or alcohol available for purchase?
There will be a variety of tasty food options available for purchase throughout the Zoo during these event dates, to include guest favorites like burgers, pizza, fries and Mini Melts. Alcohol will be available for purchase at select locations as well. Guests are also welcome to pack a cooler with food and non-alcoholic beverages. Outside alcoholic beverages and glass containers are not permitted.
Will the event occur if it rains?
Yes, this is a rain or shine event. No rain checks are available.
Do guests dress up in costumes? Is it family friendly?
Yes, Boo at the Zoo is a family-friendly event. Guests are encouraged to wear fun (not scary) costumes. Guests that wear a full mask/face covering must remove it while in motion to maintain a full field of vision, but the mask may be worn when stationary.
Is parking free?
Yes, parking is always free at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

Can I rent a stroller during Boo at the Zoo?
Yes, our rentals are located in the Welcome Plaza on the right side under the orange awning. We have wagons and double strollers available to rent. Wagons are $15 plus tax and double strollers are $12 plus tax.
Can I rent a wheelchair or electric scooter during Boo at the Zoo?
Yes, our rentals are located in the Welcome Plaza on the right side under the orange awning of the main Gift Shop. We have push wheelchairs and electric scooters available to rent. We highly suggest that guests reserve wheelchairs and electric scooters in advance. You can place a reservation for a scooter or wheelchair by calling the Gift Shop at 216.661.7603.
Pricing:
Is my pet or service animal permitted to attend the event with me?
Pets are not allowed. If you have a service animal, please notify Zoo staff and we will assist you. Guests with service animals will be advised upon entry into all restricted areas that a service animal is not permitted during a Zoo visit.
What parts of the Zoo will I NOT be able to see?
Boo at the Zoo will not include Wilderness Trek and some areas of African Savanna will be inaccessible such as the pathways by rhinos and by lions.
