Cleveland Metroparks Zoo encourages collaborative research that enhances the well-being of zoo animals and backs conservation projects for wildlife. Each year, the Zoo accommodates 25-35 research requests from external investigators who seek to gain knowledge from the animals in our care.
The Zoo does not permit major disruptions of animal management routines solely for research purposes unless there is a direct and measurable benefit to the animals in our care. Projects that can be integrated into standard management procedures or that involve limited or infrequent animal access are strongly recommended.
Outside researchers interested in collecting or requesting data for research projects should complete the AZA Research Proposal Form and send it to [email protected].
