Oktoberfest at the chalet
Make memories with family and friends this fall season while enjoying Cleveland Metroparks second annual Oktoberfest. Family friendly activities include live Polka music, dancing, games, fall photo areas, hayrides, biergarten, Cleveland Metroparks Food Truck with German food offerings and more.
Hayrides are tractor-drawn and are offered on a first-come, first served basis and leave approximately every half hour. Wagons can be covered and operate rain or shine. Our side-load wagons are ADA accessible. In addition to public hayrides, several private and group opportunities are available. See below for more information.

Oktoberfest Dates and Times
Saturday, October 3 and 17, 2026; 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Hayrides:
- Adult (Age 12+): $12.00
- Child (Age 3-11): $10.00
- 2 and under – Free (must sit on an adult lap)
Reservations are not required for general Oktoberfest Hayrides. We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Cleveland Metroparks gift cards. There is NOT an ATM on site. Gift cards are available for purchase.
Hay Throwing is permitted on our hayrides.
Early Ride for Easy Goers Saturday – 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm
- Hayrides without hay throwing will take place on Saturday, October 3 & October 17 at 2:00 pm and 2:30 pm. Perfect for the little ones or anyone who just wants a quiet laid back hayride experience. Oktoberfest activities start at 3pm.
Food and Beverage
- The Chalet concession stand will be open for purchases of beverages (Non- Alcoholic and Alcoholic) and snacks during Oktoberfest 2026. Enjoy the Biergarten and Cleveland Metroparks Food Truck with German Food offerings.
Chalet Picnic Grove
- Our Picnic Grove has picnic tables. Personal electrical appliances and extension cords are hazardous during public hours and are not permitted. 2 tables maximum per group. Cooking is prohibited in both indoor and outdoor fireplaces. Personal Lawn Chairs are welcome. Charcoal grills will not be available during this event.
Group Hayrides – Reservations Required
- A limited number of “Group Hayrides” during Oktoberfest are available by reservation. Wagons accommodate up to 25 children or 20 adults. It's like a fast pass for your group. $250 per wagon.
Oktoberfest Group Tent Rentals - Reservations Required
- Rent a Canopy Tent for your group during Oktoberfest. Seating is at picnic tables and seats approximately 30-40 people. Hayrides and food packages are available for purchase.
Book Your Party Now! - Private Party Hayride Rentals - Reservations Required
- The Chalet offers Private Party rentals of The Chalet building including hayrides throughout October during non-public hours. Private rentals include The Chalet Building (3-hour minimum) and tractor-drawn hayrides. Hayride events are great for Large or Small Groups and are popular among churches, schools, community centers, birthday parties, clambakes or Halloween parties. Plan Your Hayride Event Now!! Dates fill up fast with limited availability. Select Saturdays are available for private party bookings.
