Euclid Creek Greenway Phase 3 construction will require detouring Chardon Road traffic to complete the improvements from Euclid Avenue to St. Clair Avenue. Northbound traffic along Chardon Road will be maintained, and southbound traffic along Chardon Road will be detoured using St. Clair Avenue, Nottingham Road and Euclid Avenue. See the map below for detour route details.

It is anticipated that the detour will be in place for one construction season. Pedestrian access to Euclid Creek Greenway Phase 2 will be maintained at all times. Construction of Euclid Creek Greenway Phase 3 is anticipated to begin in late 2026 with completion by the end of 2027.
The Euclid Creek Greenway is a multi-phased trail project connecting the lower portion of Euclid Creek Reservation to its lakefront portion. Cleveland Metroparks, in partnership with city of Cleveland, was awarded construction funding for Phase 3 of the Euclid Creek Greenway project through the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program and the Clean Ohio Trail Fund program.
Phase 3 includes the construction of a 0.6-mile all-purpose trail beginning at terminus of the Euclid Creek Greenway Phase 2 trail, located along Chardon Road at the former Central Middle School site in the city of Euclid, and extends to St. Clair Avenue in the city of Cleveland. Work includes the installation of the all-purpose trail, ADA improvements, installation of landscaping and streetscaping, and other necessary infrastructure improvements to accommodate the trail, including a safer at-grade pedestrian railroad crossing.
A future and final Phase 4 this project will connect Phase 3, which ends at St. Clair Avenue, to the lakefront portion of Euclid Creek Reservation. The route for Phase 4 was determined through a public process as a part of the 2023 RAISE East Side Trails project, and is currently under planning and design.
