Trail Challenge presented by MetroHealth

Welcome to the 2026 Trail Challenge

Complete 10 trails in 10 different Cleveland Metroparks reservations between March 1 – September 30 to receive your 2026 Trail Challenge sticker and prize. You can complete these trails on your own, by joining a staff-led program, or attending a MetroHealth Be SimplyWell Health Talk.  

Explore new trails, move to better health, discover the wonders of nature, and earn a prize! 

Participation

Complete 10 of the designated trails in 10 different reservations (bike, hike, paddle, run, skate or walk) from March 1 – September 30 to receive this year’s Trail Challenge sticker and prize.

  • Sign-up for the 2026 Trail Challenge starting March 1.
  • Track your progress digitally starting March 1, or on paper by downloading the 2026 Trail Challenge Route Sheet. Paper Route Sheets are also available at all Nature Centers.
  • Complete at least 10 of the designated trails in 10 different reservations to earn a one-of-a-kind Trail Challenge sticker and prize!
    • Complete these trails on your own, or by attending a staff-led program that takes place on a Trail Challenge route.  
    • New for 2026: attend a MetroHealth Be SimplyWell Health Talk as part of Trail Challenge! Count up to 5 of these programs in place of completing a trail (each Health Talk attended counts as one trail completed).
  • When you have completed 10 of the designated trails (or combination of trails and MetroHealth Heath Talks), visit any of the five Nature Centers to collect your sticker and prize!  
  • 2026 Trail Challenge prizes are available April 1 - October 31 (while supplies last).

Looking for a little added adventure?

Visit all 18 reservations between March 1 - September 30 (for any activity or event of your choosing) and receive a 25% off coupon to use at any Cleveland Metroparks Nature Shop! Track your visitation digitally or on the paper Route Sheet by noting the program or event that you attended.

**Please note that activities and events attended that are NOT on the designated Trail Challenge routes count only towards receiving the Nature Shop coupon. Complete 10 of the designated trails (or combination of trails and MetroHealth Heath Talks) to receive the Trail Challenge sticker and prize.

Staff-Led Programs

Attend a staff-led program as part of Trail Challenge! Dates and details about upcoming Trail Challenge staff-led programs can be found HERE.

  • Staff-led programs will be continuously added to the events page closer to the program start dates. Be sure to periodically visit the link above for newly posted staff-led Trail Challenge programs!**
  • Registration may be required for some programs. Click the link above to visit the individual program webpage for full details and to register.
  • Action Trackchair and GRIT Freedom Chair mobility devices are available at select staff-led programs.  More information about mobility device availability and how to reserve them can be found on the program webpage.

** While some staff-led programs are specifically highlighted as part of Trail Challenge, please note that attending any program that takes place on a Trail Challenge route between March 1 – September 30 can be counted as a completed trail!

Trail Tracking

Track your progress digitally starting March 1, or on paper by downloading the 2026 Trail Challenge Route Sheet or picking up a copy of the Route Sheet at any Nature Center.

  • For paper tracking, simply check off the trails that you have completed, the reservations that you have visited, and note the programs that you have attended on the Route Sheet.
  • For digital tracking, visit the Trail Challenge Webpage to enroll / sign-in. You’ll be prompted to log in to their Cleveland Metroparks account; if you do not yet have an account, you will be prompted to create one.  There you’ll be able to mark the trails that you have completed and the reservations that you have visited, and note the programs that you have attended.  The digital tracker will save your progress as you go!

Prize Redemption

2026 Trail Challenge stickers and prizes are available April 1 - October 31 (while supplies last).

  • To collect your Trail Challenge finisher prize and sticker, present your paper Route Sheet or show your digital tracker completion to Nature Center staff to confirm that you completed at least 10 of the designated trails (or combination of trails and MetroHealth Health Talks).  
  • Show that you have visited all 18 reservations between March 1 – September 30 to also receive a 25% off Nature Shop coupon.

* Nature Centers are typically open 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., 7 days a week, however Center hours are subject to change.

** Nature Shop coupons can be used in-person at any Nature Center Shop or at the Mobile Nature Shop.  Coupons cannot be used for online purchases.
