Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges the friends and family of Oksana Colombo for their support of the Legacy Fund. This gift supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future.
The family of Oksana Colombo wishes to honor Oksana’s deep love of life and the beauty she found in nature, and to thank all who knew her for adding to that love.
Oksana loved fishing and often accompanied her father (Papa), routinely out-fishing him. She found peace and tranquility in hikes, walks, and bike and motorcycle rides through the park.
Among the many nicknames Oksana had was “Oak”, which is why a Bur Oak was chosen to honor her memory. Her life offered refuge and acceptance to all people and animals. May this Oak provide the same for many years to come.
Oksana's Bur Oak tree was planted in November 2025 at Big Cedar Point Picnic Area in Rocky River Reservation.
