gift supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future.
Our family planted a persimmon tree in memory of our dear brother Leonard. This type of tree holds special meaning because we remember enjoying a special treat of a persimmon together at Christmas time as children.
Leonard was an avid biker who spent countless hours in the Metroparks. Even after losing his vision, he knew the park so well he continued to ride. Leonard and his late wife Kathy lived on the edge of the park and many times during visits, their family would enjoy seeing the animals of the park walk through their backyard. The Metroparks has given them many beautiful memories of Leonard and Kathy, and they are deeply missed.
Leonard's tree was planted in October 2024 along Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation.
