Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges the friends and family of Helen Vanderink for their support of the Legacy Fund. This gift supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future.
Helen Vanderink (nee Hornyak) was originally from the Hinckley, Ohio area. She greatly loved nature and being outdoors. Helen passed on this love of nature and gardening to her family and the many foster children for whom she cared for over the years in Hiram, Ohio. We hope that this tree will serve as a legacy to Helen and that many generations of children will play under its branches in the future.
Helen's tree was planted in October 2024 at Whipp's Ledges Picnic Area in Hinckley Reservation.
