Delaney Kilbane

Beloved Daughter, Sister, and Light to AllDelaney-Kilbane.jpg

Delaney Kilbane was a light in this world. From the very beginning, there was something deeply special about her. She moved through life with a gentleness and kindness far beyond her years, making everyone around her feel seen, safe and important.

Her heart was rooted in faith, joy and connection. She loved without hesitation, gave without expectation and carried a quiet but powerful light that continues to shine in all who knew her.

Huntington Beach was one of Delaney’s happiest places. She spent countless summer days here, swimming in Lake Erie, playing in the sand and soaking in the beauty of the sunsets. Even more than the place itself, it was the time spent with family that made it so special to her. She adored the playground nearby, where her laughter and joy were always on full display.

It is only fitting that her tree stands here, close to the water she loved, in a place filled with the memories of her happiest days.

This tree is planted in Delaney’s honor, a living reminder of the love she brought into the world. Just as it will grow and offer beauty and shelter to those who pass by, her legacy continues in every act of kindness inspired by her.

For those who find this tree and wonder about the girl it honors, she was joy. She was kindness. She was love in its purest form.

If you pause here, take in the water, the breeze and the beauty around you, and carry a little more kindness into your day.

That is how we continue to live like Delaney.

Delaney's Serviceberry tree will be planted in spring 2026 near Karen's Way Play Space in Huntington Reservation.
