Cleveland Metroparks gratefully acknowledges the family of Daisy Malizio for their support of theDaisy-Malizio.jpg Legacy Fund. This gift supports reforestation in Cleveland Metroparks now and in the future.

Daisy loved nothing more than being outside. While she always enjoyed her walks in the neighborhood, on bike trails, or along with lake, nothing got her more excited than a car ride to the trails. Once the hike began, there was no slowing her down or getting her to take a break. Plenty of her owner's friends found it tough to keep up!

Cleveland Metroparks were especially important for Daisy as she got older. Longer car rides were harder, and so were hikes with lots of trees and rocks to climb over. The last several years she spent a lot of time at Edgewater, even as the pace got slower and the rests more frequent. She could spend hours laying in the grass, sniffing the fresh air, smiling at joggers and walkers who looked her way.

Daisy's family is happy to give her spirit a place that would be most at home to her: a sunny spot by the lake where she can people watch. Her family is proud to make this donation in a way that supports the mission of Cleveland Metroparks.

Daisy's Willow tree was planted in November 2024 at Edgewater Park in Lakefront Reservation.
