The Huntington Beach mural design incorporates the beloved Cottonwood tree that once stood in the park, kayakers and beach goers, as well as native wildlife including birds and fish. The mural imagery, designed by Bernadette Glorioso, was based on community feedback that inspired the design. The painting was done in collaboration with students in grades 5-8 from Incarnate Word Academy. The project offered students the opportunity to put into practice concepts from the STEAM learning model, applying science, technology, engineering, art, and math to complete the art installation.
