Calling all backcountry explorers! In this camp, discover the skills needed for a backpacking trip.
Mandatory Pre-trip meeting for BOTH guardians and campers: July 9th, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Backpacking Campout for campers only: July 16-17
Have fun while learning backcountry cooking, critter safe food storage, site selection, useful camp knots, backcountry ethics, fire building, and more! We’ll do some backpacking on the trail as we hike to camp and spend the evening learning how to cook a meal before relaxing and enjoying mini-lessons and games throughout the evening. You’ll then enjoy sleeping under the stars in shared tents with new friends. Wake up like a true backpacker and prepare your breakfast with the help of experienced instructors. Seek adventure while finding new ways to explore Cleveland Metroparks on this overnight backcountry campout.
