Shaping the Earth
Bring your class out to Hinckley Reservation for a field trip. We will hike through Whipp’s Ledges and find ourselves surrounded by massive rock formations. Students will see the effects of weathering on the face of these giants and will find an actual plant fossil. Your field trip will conclude with a ride around Hinckley Lake (on your transportation) with stops to see sedimentation in the Rocky River and erosion along the shoreline.
Please plan 1.5 hours at Hinckley Reservation for this field trip.
Standard: 4.ESS.1, 4.ESS.2, 4.ESS.3, 4.LS.2
