Homeschool Programs

Nature centers throughout Cleveland Metroparks offer programs for homeschooled students.

Rocky River Nature Center: 

Homeschool Happenings is a program series designed for homeschool students in the 1st through 6th grade. Homeschool Happenings' students will explore their natural world through hands-on activities with naturalists. Every month (September through May) covers a different topic. Programs take place within Rocky River Reservation on the third Wednesday of each month from 1 - 3 p.m.  The cost for each program is $10 per student.  Online registration opens on the 15th of the month before each program date.  For more information or to request a list of upcoming topics, email rockyrivernc@clevelandmetroparks or call 440-734-6660.

Watershed Stewardship Center:

The themes of water and wetlands provide the backdrop to discovery at our Home-2-Outdoors (H2O) Homeschool Program Series! H2O students will dive deep into a variety of environmental subjects as we explore the living laboratory of West Creek Reservation. Lessons occur on the first Wednesday of every month (except January) from September through May, from 10 a.m. - noon. Curriculum for Tadpoles covers ages 5 - 8. Curriculum for Froglets covers ages 9 - 12. $30 for the entire series. Registration for the school year opens in August of that year. 


Brecksville Nature Center:

Outdoor Adventures for Homeschoolers is for students in 7th–12th grade. Participants experience the outdoors through outdoor recreation activities and wilderness skills. Programs are offered one Wednesday a month from August through May. Registration opens on the 15th of the month prior to the program date.
