As families and friends prepare to celebrate Labor Day weekend together, Cleveland Metroparks reminds all guests to plan ahead and enjoy the holiday safely and responsibly across its 18 park reservations, golf courses, and the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
With pleasant weather and high visitation anticipated, particularly along the lakefront, guests planning to visit Edgewater Park, Whiskey Island, Wendy Park, area marinas and yacht clubs are encouraged to arrive by early afternoon. Please note, the causeway from Wendy Park to the Historic U.S. Coast Guard Station remains closed for repairs being conducted by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
To maintain public safety and ensure a positive experience for all, vehicular access to park entrances will close as parking lots reach capacity. To keep these areas safe and accessible, guests are asked not to park in undesignated areas, including medians, grassy spaces, and picnic areas. Cleveland Metroparks Police will be on-site to monitor traffic and enforce parking regulations. Cleveland Metroparks Police will be present on foot, bikes, in patrol cruisers and on horseback to assist in parking and safety. In case of emergency, please notify Cleveland Metroparks Police Headquarters immediately by calling 440-333-4911 or 911. Non-life-threatening situations should be reported to Cleveland Metroparks Police at 440-331-5530.
For everyone’s safety during the Cleveland Air Show, drone use and kite flying are strictly prohibited at Edgewater Park during Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) hours: Friday, August 29, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday through Monday (August 30–September 1) from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Drones are banned under FAA rules.
There are plenty of ways to enjoy the long weekend throughout Cleveland Metroparks:
