Emerald Necklace Travel League
Cleveland Metroparks has a Travel League that we host at the five 18-hole golf course from April to October for men and women.
Now in its Ninth season, Cleveland Metroparks will offer a golf league, meant for adults, which will utilize Cleveland Metroparks Golf Courses, late April through mid-October, on Tuesday mornings. The league will rotate playing 18 holes at Manakiki, Shawnee Hills, Sleepy Hollow, Big Met and Seneca.
There is a $30 registration fee to join the league. Green fees will be paid upon arrival at each host site. League members, age 60 and above, will pay the senior rate. League members, age 18 to 59, will pay the regular weekday rate. Rental riding carts and pull carts are optional and to be paid also upon arrival. League members are encouraged to join the Cleveland Metroparks Bonus Rounds program ($.20 green fee credit for every $1 in green fees paid). The Bonus Rounds program costs $30 annually, which comes with a complimentary 9-hole round and $5 merchandise coupon.
Each league member may select one partner with whom he/she may always be paired. It is recommended to select a partner who matches the desire to walk or ride. Other members of the foursome will be randomly selected.
The league will offer a season-long point competition. Each week participation points will be available. Once a league member establishes a target score (average), he/she will shoot for “playing” points. Players will receive two points for every stroke below his/her average and lose one point for every stroke above. The league will have a first and second half season and will conclude with a tour championship. In general, USGA rules will prevail, with a number of exceptions. The maximum allowable score per hole will be 4 over par. Winter rules will be played in the player’s own fairway only. League rules and procedures may be found here.
The planned communication for this league (starting times, results, standings, news, etc.) will be provided through the use of email. It is necessary that each league member, or at least one of the partners, has access to email.
