Cleveland Metroparks has all-terrain beach wheelchairs available at Huntington and Edgewater Beach for individuals who require mobility assistance at the beach. With two large balloon wheels and 360 degree casters, the beach wheelchair will allow you to glide across sandy beaches, a nearly impossible task for conventional wheelchairs.
The all-terrain wheelchairs are not able to be independently operated, therefore users must be accompanied by another individual capable of maneuvering the chair.
Beach wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge on a first come, first served basis when lifeguards are on duty (11 a.m.- 7 p.m. daily, the first Saturday in June through the second Sunday in August, then weekends through Labor Day).
