Cleveland Metroparks Begins Management of 50-acre Dunham Park Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman today joined City of Maple Heights Mayor Annette Blackwell to announce the transition of Dunham Park to Cleveland Metroparks. The 50-acre park is the first Cleveland Metroparks property in the City of Maple Heights and is the 49th community directly served by Cleveland Metroparks.

Dunham Park is located at 6200 Dunham Road in Maple Heights in the southwestern corner of Maple Heights. Cleveland Metroparks also announced conceptual improvements planned for the park including a new pavilion, open fields, playground and trails.

There are also future connection opportunities to the main body of Bedford Reservation, Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Towpath Trail that Cleveland Metroparks is evaluating as part of longterm strategic plans.

The majority of Dunham Park is largely forested and contains valuable headwater streams whose health is essential to the overall health of downstream waterways of the Cuyahoga River. The conservation and protection of these forests and headwater tributaries are an essential part of Cleveland Metroparks management of the property.

The park will become part of Bedford Reservation and Cleveland Metroparks has applied for financial assistance through the State of Ohio NatureWorks grant program to improve public recreation at the park.
