Cleveland Metroparks today announced Bill Chorba, CPA, as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). As CFO, Chorba will lead and manage all aspects of the finances for Cleveland Metroparks including long- and short-range budgets, accounting, auditing, payroll and more. Chorba will also serve as an ex officio officer of the Board of Park Commissioners and advise the Board on financial requirements.
Most recently, Chorba served as CFO at NineSigma, Inc., a worldwide provider of innovation services. In addition to his role as CFO at NineSigma, he also served as Managing Director at NineSigma Europe and on the Board of Directors as NineSigma Japan. In 2011, he was selected as CFO of the year by Crain's Cleveland Business.
"Bill brings a strong and diverse financial background to the Cleveland Metroparks and will provide responsible oversight and stewardship of public dollars as we continue to remain debt-free," said Brian M. Zimmerman, Cleveland Metroparks CEO.
Cleveland Metroparks is a three-time winner of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in financial reporting and has decades of clean audits and strong fiscal management. Through vigilant management of funds and with an eye towards the future, Cleveland Metroparks has also continued to operate without debt.

Chorba will be replacing Karen Fegan, who has served as Cleveland Metroparks CFO since June 2016. Fegan will continue to serve with the Cleveland Metroparks as the Controller.
Chorba has served as the Chairman of the Ohio Society of CPAs since 2015 and is also an Advisory Board Member of UpSearch LLC, a technology firm of Microsoft Data Platform specialists. Chorba earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace University with a concentration in Accounting.
