Crews are putting the finishing touches on Cleveland's newest waterfront dining experience, Merwin's Wharf, opening soon on the East Bank of the Flats. Cleveland Metroparks' exciting new full-service restaurant features eclectic dcor and a 3,000 square foot landscaped patio with firepit and fireplace overlooking the scenic Cuyahoga River at Irishtown Bend. It is the perfect place for family and friends to relax, gather and eat thoughtfully made creative cuisine.
Continuing in the tradition of Noble Merwin, one of the Flats' earliest tavern owners, Cleveland Metroparks is renovating its former caf at Rivergate Park into an after-work destination and relax-by-the-river weekend bistro -- scheduled to open in late July.
Cleveland Metroparks is continuing on its promise to create opportunities for residents to reconnect with the waterways that give our region so much character and potential, said Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian Zimmerman. Merwin's Wharf is going to be a fantastic place to eat by the water's edge and experience the sights and sounds of the natural and industrial traffic on the Cuyahoga.
The restaurant will be open from 3-10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 3-11 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, noon to 9 p.m. on Sunday and closed on Monday. A private room for parties and meetings, with a capacity of 32 guests will be available for daytime rentals. The menu will feature a wide selection of food options made from scratch with locally sourced items.
The Park District's Outdoor Experiences Division will have office space within the facility to coordinate future recreational activities.
