We look forward to seeing you at Trick-or-Treat Fest presented by Citizens! See below for important information to know before you go. Make sure to note your scheduled trick-or-treat timeslot for Trick-or-Treat Way in advance so you don’t miss your entry.
General Admission to the Zoo is sold separately. Trick-or-Treat Fest guests are welcome to experience the rest of the Zoo before, during or after their scheduled Trick-or-Treat timeslot during general admission hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to partake in train and carousel rides, 4D movies or see animals.
The earliest entry option into Trick-or-Treat Way is 10:00 a.m. and the last entry timeslot is 2:30 p.m. Access is valid for one trip through Trick-or-Treat Way. Trick-or-Treat Fest ticket holders should make their way to the back of African Elephant Crossing towards Savanna Theater and exit out of the Wallaby Walkabout blue gates at their designated Trick-or-Treat Way timeslot for the candy stations, meet and greet costume characters and dance party.
Members, don't forget to have your membership handy when entering the Zoo.

Capacity to the Trick-or-Treat Fest area is limited. Guests are encouraged to buy tickets in advance. General admission to the Zoo is sold separately.
Trick-or-Treat Fest runs from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October from October 6 - October 29 as a special event run in tandem with general daytime admission at the Zoo.
Guests with Trick-or-Treat Fest tickets can participate in a variety of activities as part of the experience such as:
- Timed entry into Trick-or-Treat Way, presented by Wayside Furniture, featuring more than a dozen candy stations. Access through Trick-or-Treat Way is limited to one time.
- Meet-and-greets with costumed characters
- Exclusive access to a Monster Mash Dance Party at the Zoo’s Amphitheater presented by CrossCountry Mortgage
- Unlimited rides on the Circle of Wildlife Carousel, courtesy of MetroHealth
- Unlimited train rides on the Pumpkin Express in Australian Adventure courtesy of Serpentini
- Unlimited entries into the 4-D Theater featuring SCOOB! (runtime:15 min)

What is admission to the event?
The discounted cost for Zoo members is $7 and $9 for non-members plus general admission, sold separately. Members must show their membership and ID at the ticket scanning area for entry to the Zoo and The Rainforest. Tickets can be purchased same-day at the Box Office. General admission pricing is $19 for adults and youth ages 12-17, $17 for seniors, $15 for youth ages 2-11. Children under 2 years of age are free. All family members (adults and children) participating in the event activities must have a Trick-or-Treat Fest ticket.
Event attendees will need to show their barcoded Trick-or-Treat Fest ticket to receive a wristband at the Box Office, Main Zoo entrance, 4-D Theater sales booth, Train sales booth, or Carousel sales booth prior to experiencing Trick-or-Treat Fest.
What if I bought a ticket but I haven’t gotten it yet?
Guests will receive eTickets within one hour of an online purchase. If they do not, guests should check their Spam/Clutter/Junk folders. Email providers may flag such purchases with pdf attachments as spam by mistake. Guests that still cannot locate their purchase in their email can call the Zoo at 216-635-3391 to have their tickets resent. Guests can also check in at the Box Office or Guest Resource Center upon arrival to have hard-copy tickets printed.
How do members get their discounted tickets?
Members must log-in on the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo website with both their permanent member number and the last name of the primary member when they purchase tickets in order for the reduced price to appear in their shopping cart. Members that have recently purchased a new membership or renewed an existing membership will experience a delay when trying to immediately use their membership for discounted purchases. Members are permitted to purchase Trick-orTreat Fest tickets for those covered under their membership package. Proof of membership and ID are required at entry..
Are there discounts for children?
Children under 2 enter the Zoo and Trick-Or-Treat Fest for free. Ages 2 and up require a ticket.
Should we bring our own candy bags?
Yes, we encourage participants to bring their own reusable bags to collect candy in. The first 1,000 guests each day will receive a complimentary trick-or-treat bag courtesy of Meijer.
Will you have treats for kids that are allergic and/or cannot have candy?
Yes, Trick or Treat Way will have a variety of treats for guests with individual needs.
What if I miss my time for Trick or Treat Way?
Alert Zoo staff upon arrival and they will provide you entry into the soonest available timeslot.
Can I get into the Trick-or-Treat area early if I come to the Zoo early?
Entrance into Trick or Treat Way will be limited for comfortable guest flow and crowd control. Guests will not be permitted entry to Trick-or-Treat Way prior to their scheduled timeslot without prior arrangements with a Guest Services staff member.
Can I change my trick-or-treating timeslot?
If you would like to change your timeslot, you can alert Zoo Staff upon arrival to see if an alternative timeslot is available. If you notice before the day of your visit that you need to move your reservation, please call 216.635.3391 between 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. for assistance.
Will there be food or alcohol available for purchase?
Many concession stands will be open throughout the Zoo during these event dates. Alcohol will be available for purchase at select locations as well. Guests are also welcome to pack a cooler. Outside alcoholic beverages and glass products are not permitted.
Will the event occur if it rains?
Yes, this is a rain or shine event. No rainchecks are available.
Do guests dress up in costume? Is it family friendly?
Yes, Trick-or-Treat Fest is a family-friendly event. Guests are encouraged to wear fun (not scary) costumes.
Is parking free?
Yes, parking is always free at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.
Can I purchase member discounted tickets for my non-member friends?
Only members receive the membership discount on tickets. Guests will be asked to show their membership ID at the Zoo upon entry. If a guest has a member ticket but is not a member, they will need to purchase the non-member event ticket and then contact the Guest Resource Center to refund the mistaken ticket at 216-635-3391 between 9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. daily.

Can I rent a stroller during Trick-Or-Treat Fest?
Yes, our rentals are located in the Welcome Plaza on the right side under the orange awning. We have wagons and double strollers available to rent. Wagons are $15 plus tax and double strollers are $12 plus tax. You must show a valid photo ID. You can place a reservation for a stroller by calling the Gift Shop at 216-661-7603.
Can I rent a wheelchair or electric scooter during Trick-Or-Treat Fest?
Yes, our rentals are located in the Welcome Plaza on the right side under the orange awning of the main Gift Shop. We have push wheelchairs and electric scooters available to rent. We
highly suggest that guests reserve wheelchairs and electric scooters in advance. You can place a reservation for a scooter or wheelchair by calling the Gift Shop at 216-661-7603.

Is my pet or service animal permitted to attend the event with me?
Pets are not allowed. Service animals are not permitted in restricted areas of the Zoo such as the Wallaby Walkabout and Contact Yard in Australian Adventure. While Trick-or-Treat Way occurs in these locations, if you have a service animal please notify Zoo staff and we will assist you. Guests with service animals will be advised upon entry of all restricted areas that a service animal is not permitted during a Zoo visit.
