Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has created a brand new program that will allow students and learners of all ages to experience the Zoo online with a Virtual Field Trip. Join us for a 45-minute live, interactive tour of the Zoo with a member of our education staff as your guide. Each field trip will address science standards of the grade you choose. Whether your students are at home or in the classroom, our Virtual Field Trips are the next best thing to being here.

We highly recommend including our pre-recorded Zoo Science Units in the preparation for the live Virtual Field Trip. Each unit reviews a life science standard with videos, at-home and at-school activities and a short video peek at a connected zoo career. After completing the program registration, we will send you a confirmation email with a link to a teacher/parent guide. You can expect Zoom connection details one week prior to the scheduled Virtual Field Trip.

FAQ

What video conference platform is used for this program?

Zoom. One week prior to your purchased date, you will receive a virtual meeting invite by email from our education team. On the day of your Virtual Field Trip, you will need to access this meeting invite to log into your registered experience and meet your Zoo tour guide.

How many students can attend virtually?

Registration is limited to one registered party per time slot. This is usually one teacher/facilitator and their students. To ensure quality of learning, we request that there are no more than thirty (30) viewers, including the teacher/facilitator, per Virtual Field Trip.
