    Zoo Library

    Zoo | Education | Educational Programs | Educational Opportunities

    Check out the online resource library for animal photos and facts. You can also search our library catalog to see what books, dvds, magazines, journals and cds we have on hand. The library also houses the Zoo's archive, comprising of historical photos, documents, marketing materials, newsletters, etc.  The library is open to the public for research purposes on Wednesday and Friday morning from 9-1p.m. and other times by appointment.

    Online Resource Library

    • Access Animal Lesson Plans, Teacher Resources, Animal Fact Sheets and Zoo History​

    Access the Zoo's online course list.  These courses can only be accessed by registered users.

    Dates/Times

    Library Hours:

    The library is open to the public for research purposes on Wednesday and Saturday morning, and other times by appointment.

    • Weekdays: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Weekends: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Zoo Library Facts:

    • The Library is run by one Librarian and 15 Library Volunteers
    • It's a great resource for our over 400 volunteers and for staff members in the Education, Marketing, Animal Care, Horticulture & Guest Services divisions.
    • The Library houses a collection of over 11,000 books and maintains approximately 150 periodical subscriptions.
    • We cover a wide variety of topics ranging from "green living" and sustainability to exotic animal medicine and endangered species breeding.
    • The Library responds to U.S. Mail information requests, e-mail requests, phone requests 216.635.3333, and daily staff inquiries.

    Materials are circulated to staff and volunteers only.
