    Masai Giraffe

    Name: Kidogo
    Date of Birth: April 15, 2019
    Parents: Jada, Bo
    Location: African Savanna
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This is Jada's first calf.  At 101 pounds, he is the smallest giraffe calf to have ever been born at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo.

     

        

     

    Reindeer

    Name: Brutus
    Date of Birth: April 3, 2019
    Parents: Petunia, Bumble
    Location: Wilderness Trek
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: Reindeer calves are able to stand a few hours after birth.  This youngster even attempted to prance at just two days old.

    Sloth Bear

    Name: Shala
    Date of Birth: January 14, 2019
    Parents: Shive, Balawat
    Location: Wilderness Trek
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This cub is the first sloth bear born at Cleveland Meroparks Zoo in 30 years.  After three months it began nibbling at solid food and investigating the den, staying close to mom.

     

    Black Rhinoceros

    Name: Nia
    Date of Birth: August 20, 2018
    Parents: Inge, Forrest
    Location: African Savanna
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This is the seventh calf born at the Zoo and Inge's fifth calf.  Suprisngly, this is Inge's fifth daughter; she has never given birth to a male calf.


     

    American Beaver

    Date of Birth: July 31, 2018
    Parents: Meta, Pepita
    Location: Wilderness Trek
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This is the first set of two kits for parents Meta and Pepita.  These curious beaver kits will stay in their lodge for about a month until they are comfortable exploring the water in the surrounding habitat.

     

    Persian Onager

    Date of Birth: July 8, 2018
    Parents: Dorri, Cody
    Location: Wilderness Trek
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This foal was up and walking around its habitat the same day it was born. First time mother, Dorri, stays close to make sure the male foal can nurse whenever it wants.
     

    Crowned Lemur

    Date of Birth: May 16, 2018
    Parents: Kesi, Azizi
    Location: Primate, Cat & Aquatics
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This is Kesi's second offspring. Both she and father Azizi are very protective and are often seen hiding the baby by blocking it with their bodies. 
     

    Pied Tamarins

    Date of Birth: April 30, 2018 
    Parents: Xhana, Yan 
    Location: The RainForest 
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: The twin babies cling to both their mother and father for security. As their confidence grows, they actively explore their habitat and venture away from their parents. 
     

    Snow Leopards 

    Names: Bodhi, Zara and Omid
    Date of Birth: April 22, 2018 
    Parents: Sombra, Amga 
    Location: Asian Highlands
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This is the second delivery for mother, Sombra, and this trio includes two male and one female cub. 
     

    White-fronted Marmoset

    Date of Birth: April 8, 2018 
    Parents: Manny, 150510 
    Location: The RainForest 
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: Right now the baby is spending most of its time in a hammock receiving care from its mother. This is typical for them. When outside of the hammock, the baby can be seen clinging to its mother's belly.
     

    Eastern Black Rhinoceros 

    Name: Lulu
    Date of Birth: February 7, 2018 
    Parents: Kibbibi, Forrest 
    Location: African Savanna 
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This baby girl spends much of her time near mom, Kibbibi, which is an indicator of a strong bond
     

    Asian small-clawed otters

    Names: Adhi, Bejo and Cipto
    Date of Birth: September 24, 2017 
    Parents: Bitzy, Kibble 
    Location: The RainForest
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This trio of male pups is especially vocal, using chirps to communicate with each other and their parents. 
     

    Masai Giraffe 

    Date of Birth: August 6, 2017 
    Parents: Jhasmin, Travis 
    Location: African Savanna 
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This male giraffe is the 48th calf born at the Zoo. He weighed in at 160 pounds and stood over 6 feet tall at birth.
     
     
     
     

    Bornean Orangutan 

    Name: Merah
    Date of Birth: October 5, 2014 
    Parents: Kera Wak, Tiram 
    Location: The RainForest 
    Zoo Baby Fun Fact: This female baby is a very significant birth as there are only 75 Bornean orangutans in 21 different institutions in North America.
