The lakefront happy hour concerts at Edgewater LIVE and Euclid Beach LIVE might be garnering the majority of the headlines and publicity, but the truth is there’s music in the air across many of Cleveland Metroparks reservations.
The music begins on Wednesdays at Garfield Park Nature Center. From 6:30-8:30 p.m. guests can bring a chair or blanket and their favorite picnic snacks to the nature center and relax to a variety of different music, including a drum circle on July 16 with Olu Manns of HeartBEAT Afrika, Latin/jazz acoustic guitar on July 23 with Victor Samalot and the steel drum sounds of the Calypso Gypsies on July 30.
Garfield Park Nature Center is located at 11350 Broadway Ave., Garfield Heights. For more information, call 216-341-3152.
On Thursdays, the music migrates to the West Side for the Stinchcomb Memorial Concert Series in Rocky River Reservation. These concerts are also appropriate for a picnic and a blanket or lawn chair and run from 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays in July. The series continues with the Chardon Polka Band on July 10, Outlaws I & I (reggae) on July 17, The Bellfuries (rockabilly) on July 24 and Cats on Holiday (Louisiana inspired swamp pop) on July 31.
The Stinchcomb concerts take place at the Stinchcomb-Groth Memorial off Hogsback Lane, between Valley Parkway and Riverside Drive in Cleveland. Parking is limited on site, but a shuttle is available from the Emerald Necklace Marina, 1500 Scenic Park Drive, in Lakewood. For more information, call 440-734-6660.
Look About Lodge is located at 37374 Miles Road in Bentleyville. For more information, call 440-247-7075.
No matter where you look, or listen, there’s music to be found throughout Cleveland Metroparks.
