    DIY Sensory Jar

A sensory jar can be made in a variety of ways. You can make one to represent what lives in a pond, who flies in the sky, one for each season, or just with what you have available at home. The options are endless.
No matter what theme you wish to give your sensory jar, it will provide a fun and easy way to have sensory play the no-mess way.

    What you’ll need
    • Jar or container that is watertight, preferably plastic
    • Water
    • Tape or glue to seal
    • Gel Beads (optional)
    • Baby oil (optional for added effect)
    • Interchangeable items

    Beads
    Glitter
    Fake/Real flowers
    Food coloring
    Leaves
    Acorns
    Twigs
    Greens
    Pinecones
    Rocks

    How to
    1. First decide on what jar you will be using and what items you’re going to place inside your sensory bottle.
    2. Fill the jar ½ - ¾ with water
    3. Add your variety of seasonal items (some potential options listed below). You want to be sure the items can move around so don’t fill the far completely.
    4. Add a touch of glitter, drop of food coloring, or a few gel beads if desired. For items such as glitter, food coloring, gel beads a little goes a long way so not a lot is needed.
    5. Fill the rest of the jar with water, leaving about a ½ inch at the top so items can move.
    6. Glue/tape on the lid, if glue leave time to dry. Flip over the sink to make sure sealed tightly.
    7. Shake & Enjoy! (see photo below for finished product)
