Have you ever gone for a hike in your favorite Cleveland Metroparks reservation and spotted a snake slithering across the path? Maybe you were wading in a creek when you noticed a turtle swim right past you. Cleveland is home to many different types of reptiles and here at Cleveland Metroparks, we think that’s something to celebrate!

Reptiles from Ohio and around the world will be in the spotlight and guests will get the chance to meet live reptiles, learn how they survive in the wild, play games, make crafts, search for toy reptiles in the Reptile Dig and get all of their reptile questions answered.
Guests might meet an Eastern rat snake, box turtle, ring neck snake, painted turtle, lizards and skinks, learn where reptiles might be living in their own neighborhoods, find out how to make a good decision when choosing a reptile as a pet and how to properly care for a pet reptile.
Kids will be challenged to move like a turtle in the Turtle Scooter Race, play Pin the Tongue on the Snake, a traditional party game with a new twist, and discover “cool” facts about cold-blooded reptiles by playing the GIANT Reptile Board Game.

Cleveland Metroparks Kids Club members will earn a stamp for their passports, too!
The Shelterhouse Picnic Area is located off Hawthorn Parkway in South Chagrin Reservation, east of SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Bentleyville – north of the Route 422/Route 91 exit.
