      Trail Challenge: Daypack Essentials*

      Explore this newly opened and incredibly scenic trail with a member of the Outdoor Recreation team as we discuss the essential gear that every smart hiker should carry in their daypack.

      • Terrain: About .5 miles of natural surface trail with sections of stone steps.
      • All Ages (Minors between the ages of 0-17 MUST have a participating adult)

      Directions: Meet at the Chippewa Creek Gorge Overlook parking area.
      Ages: All Ages (Minors between the ages of 0-17 MUST have a participating adult)
      Fee: Free - Registration preferred, walk-ups permitted.   
      Terrain/Distance: About .5 miles of natural surface trail with sections of stone steps.
      Whether you’re completing your 1st or 10th Trail Challenge route, join Cleveland Metroparks staff for a short hike that will incorporate learning an outdoor skill that you can incorporate into your next adventure.  The entire program will be spent outside; please dress appropriately for the weather. Reference the 3Ws of layering for more information about how to dress. Classes will begin promptly, so plan to arrive early.

      Cleveland Metroparks staff can adapt many programs to be accessible to anyone who would like to participate assuming they meet the essential eligibility criteria.
