      CHEERS Online Community Meeting

You’re invited! The Cleveland Harbor Eastern Embayment Resilience Study (CHEERS) team is seeking neighborhood input to help prioritize initial ideas for the east side lakefront. The ideas being shared in the upcoming community meeting were developed based on feedback gathered in meetings, surveys, and on-site walkshops in 2020.

CHEERS is a planning initiative to study opportunities for revitalization of the lakeshore east of downtown Cleveland. Cleveland Metroparks, the City of Cleveland, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Ohio Department of Transportation, and the Port of Cleveland are collaborating on this study to address lakefront challenges faced by each organization and to provide mutual benefit and improved public assets. CHEERS will identify solutions that deliver multiple benefits: explore the beneficial use of dredge material, create additional aquatic and terrestrial habitat, protect existing highway infrastructure, improve multi-modal connections, and enhance the lakeshore as a dynamic community asset.

Cleveland Metroparks staff can adapt many programs to be accessible to anyone who would like to participate assuming they meet the essential eligibility criteria. Reasonable accommodation can also be made. Please make a request at the time of registration but no later than 72 business hours prior to the program. Contact us at 216.635.3299 or kbc@clevelandmetroparks.com or at these telephone numbers.
