Come Celebrate 100 Years with Cleveland Metroparks

You're invited to join Cleveland Metroparks as the Emerald Necklace officially turns 100 years old this weekend. A one-of-a-kind centennial bash is planned for Saturday, July 22 at Edgewater Beach.

"You only turn 100 once, so we want it to be a memorable experience for the community," says Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian M. Zimmerman. "We thank KeyBank for making this free community celebration possible."

The celebration will include a full day of live music, including a performance by Cleveland's own Michael Stanley & Friends.

"As Cleveland's hometown bank, we are honored to partner with Cleveland Metroparks to present the Centennial Fireworks Celebration," says KeyCorp Chairman and CEO Beth Mooney. "We look forward to another 100 years of partnership and support."

Guests can also take their picture at the eight-foot tall living billboard or grab a bite to eat from one of the local food trucks or the new Edgewater Beach House.

At dusk, a custom, choreographed fireworks show, synced to music courtesy of iHeartMedia's 106.5 FM The Lake will light up the sky above the beach.

Attendees are encouraged to use alternate methods of transportation. Beach-goers can walk or bike ride from the Detroit Shoreway neighborhood through the pedestrian tunnel located at W. 76th St. Plenty of bike parking will be available on site. There also will be a designated ride share drop-off/pick-up zone located at Upper Edgewater.
