    Run, Kayak and Bike through Cleveland Metroparks in the Ledges to Lake Adventure Race

    Looking for the thrill of an adventure? Cleveland Metroparks Ledges to Lake Adventure Race in Hinckley Reservation on Saturday, September 19 challenges participants on land and in water while running, cycling and kayaking. Bring friends and family, or go it alone! Challengers can compete individually, as a team, or complete the race as a relay.

     

    Ledges to Lake combines the thrills of exhilarating competition while enjoying the great outdoors. Registration is available online through September 11; individual registration ($75), team registration ($100) and relay registration ($120). On the day of the race, participants can register on site, pick up their race packet and drop kayaks off from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. After 8:30 a.m., the roads and kayak drop-off area will close in preparation for the race.  Pre-race announcements will kick off at 8:45 a.m., and the race will begin at 9 a.m.!

     

    The race begins with a 3.5 mile run on Hinckley Reservation's bridle trails, contenders will then move to the water and hop in a kayak for 1.5 laps around Hinckley Lake. For the final portion of the race, participants will jump out of the kayak and onto the bike for 9-miles to the finish line.

     

    Designed for both beginners and advanced contenders, Ledges to Lake is the ultimate adventure race! Fun for all ages, individuals can compete at age 14 and up; teams must consist of two participants age 10 and up with an adult, and a relay may have two to three participants age 14 and up.

     

    Competitors must wear a properly fitted U.S. Coast Guard lifejacket while kayaking, and a helmet while cycling. Participants with their own kayak must have current registration. A limited number of kayaks will be available for rent ($10/boat), contact Outdoor Recreation at 216-341-1704 for more information.
