Cleveland Metroparks is educating a generation of explorers this summer with day camps throughout the Park District and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. These hands on camps will get kids ages 3 - 17 outside and into discovery mode all summer long. From the lakefront, to the Zoo, to the forest, there are many diverse camp programs to choose from!
Kids will make the most of their summer break through nature-based recreation. Park District summer camps get kids moving and engaged in exciting, unique ways. Cleveland Metroparks naturalists and recreation specialists will lead hiking in the woods, wading through creeks, paddling kayaks and rock climbing in the park. With Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's camp counselors, kids will connect with wildlife during Get-Close small animal encounters and tours of Zoo exhibits.
And while school may be out, that doesn't mean kids stop learning. Cleveland Metroparks has many camp sessions that make education fun. Kids can definitely learn something new this summer with conservation-focused camp sessions at the Zoo, and nature camps that focus on survival skills, gardening, biology and more throughout nine park reservations.
Zoo and Park camp sessions are available for kids of all ages! For the young ones, there is the Nature Play Camp at the Zoo, the Small Wonders Camp in Rocky River Reservation, and Let's Explore CanalWay in Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation. Just to name a few!
There are many options for teens as well! Including Biology Camp at West Creek Reservation - Biology Camp uses the outdoors as a classroom while exploring wetlands, uplands and streams. Also, there is the kayaking/stand up paddle boarding youth day, which will have campers learning how to "walk on water" with stand-up paddleboards. And based out of the Zoo, the Emerald Necklace camp visits park reservations and golf courses too!
Registration is required for all camps and is now open for the Zoo Summer Day Camp and Emerald Necklace Camp. Visit Clevelandmetroparks.com/zoo to sign up!
