Looking for a reason to
visit your favorite Cleveland Metroparks golf course while it's under a
blanket of snow? While you may not be able to golf much this time of
year, you can still visit Cleveland Metroparks golf courses throughout
the snowy season. Take advantage of the park district's beautiful golf
courses in the snowy weather by cross-country skiing or snowshoeing, two
exciting reasons to embrace the winter season.
Staying in shape will
give your golf game the jump-start it needs for the 2015 season. You
will be sure to work up a sweat while traversing the fairways and rough
areas of Big Met, Little Met, Shawnee Hills, Seneca, Mastick Woods and
Sleepy Hollow. Snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are only available
with a four-inch snow base.
Whether you are a
beginner or seasoned cross-country skier/snowshoe expert, you will enjoy
the unique setting the golf courses provide. Snowshoe and cross-country
ski rentals are available at Big Met in Rocky River Reservation. Make a
day of your winter activities and satisfy your hunger after a
fulfilling day of exercise! The Big Met grille is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
on cross-country skiing and snowshoeing days. Call 216-635-3270 for
course conditions.
While cross-country
skiing and snowshoeing will get you outdoors in the off-season,
Cleveland Metroparks provides many indoor opportunities to improve your
golf game. Indoor golf lessons are offered at Sleepy Hollow, Seneca and
Manakiki courses. Work on your full swing fundamentals and short game
with Cleveland Metroparks PGA golf professionals. To find out more about
class dates, costs and times, call (440) 232-7247.
Regardless of the time of
year, there are many ways to stay fit and prepared for the beginning of
the golf season. For more information on indoor classes, pro shops,
