    JOIN THE 81ST ANNUAL SERIES OF SPRING BIRD WALKS AND WITNESS THE SPRING BIRD MIGRATION SENSATION!

    Get a bird's-eye view of nature's feathered friends as they return here to nest or migrate north during the 81st annual Series of Spring Bird Walks. These free, guided bird walks are held on six consecutive Sunday mornings, April 13 through May 18, beginning at 7:30 a.m. at 18 different locations throughout northeast Ohio. 



    Novice and experienced birders alike can observe a variety of birds ranging from songbirds to waterfowl to raptors. Each week, southerly winds bring vast waves of birds northward including:warblers, sparrows, thrushes, shorebirds, orioles, grosbeaks, tanagers, common grackles, mourning doves and American woodcocks.
     

     

     

    Bird walks will take off from the following Cleveland Metroparks locations:

     

     

     

    Hemlock Creek Picnic Area parking lot � Bedford Reservation

    Hemlock Creek Picnic Area parking lot is located off Button Road in Bedford Reservation, just east of Dunham Road in Walton Hills. For more information, call 440-734-6660.

     

     

     

    Lake Isaac � Big Creek Reservation

    Lake Isaac is located off Big Creek Parkway in Big Creek Reservation, between Fowles Road and Main Street in Middleburg Heights. For more information, call 440-734-6660.

     

     

     

    Parking Area at Station Road Bridge Trailhead � Brecksville Reservation

    The parking area at Station Road Bridge Trailhead is located off Riverview Road, south of  Route 82 in Brecksville. For more information, call 440-526-1012.

     

     

     

    Cleveland Lakefront Nature Preserve

    Meet at Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation Offices parking lot in Gordon Park. Exit the Shoreway at Martin Luther King Boulevard, proceed north, park entrance is on the left. For more information, call 440-734-6660.

     

     

     

    Bridge at the south end of Hinckley Lake � Hinckley Reservation

    The bridge at the south end of Hinckley Lake is located off State Road in Hinckley Reservation in Hinckley Township. For more information, call 440-734-6660.

     

     

     

    Huntington Beach parking lot � Huntington Reservation

    Huntington Beach parking lot is located off Lake Road in Huntington Reservation in Bay Village. For more information, call 440-734-6660.

    CanalWay Center parking lot � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Rocky River Nature Center parking lot � Rocky River Reservation

    This series of spring bird walks are co-sponsored by Cleveland Metroparks, Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland, The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, and other local park districts.
