    Earth Day is April 22, and at Cleveland Metroparks we celebrate all month long with environmentally-friendly programs and activities. Take some time this month to enjoy nature with these programs at Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation.  



    Hunt of the Month: Recycle Symbols

    Tuesday, April 1 - Wednesday, April 30 

    9 a.m.  - 5 p.m. (Mon. - Sat.) AND Noon - 5 p.m. (Sun.)

    Bring the kids out for a self-guided hunt. In honor of Earth Day, there are 20 hidden recycle symbols throughout CanalWay Center.  See how many you can find.




    Earth Day Hike

    Tuesday, April 22 � 3:30 - 5 p.m.

    Harvard Trailhead � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Celebrate Earth Day along the �Burning River.� Meet at the Harvard Road trailhead and hike south while discussing how pollution in the Cuyahoga River led to a national call for action. Keep an eye out for bald eagles along the way. The trailhead is located off Old Harvard Avenue in the Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Harvard Avenue and Jennings Road in Cleveland.



    American Girl Morning: Save the Earth!

    Saturday, April 26 � 10 a.m. to noon

    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Calling all girls! Bring your American Girl gal pal for a morning of fun eco-friendly activities. Create your own trail mix and a recycled craft. Then hit the trails for a hike. This program is for girls ages 8 to 12 years old. Registration, beginning April 1, and $10 fee are required.



    CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights. For more information or to register, visit clevelandmetroparks.com or call 216-206-1000.
