This August, swap your fast food for a meal in the park. Discover a Cleveland Metroparks reservation and enjoy food with a view at one of these upcoming Park District programs.

    Breakfast in the Park

    Saturday, August 9 9 - 11 a.m.

Codrington Picnic Area Bradley Woods Reservation

Bring your appetite for a fun early morning hike for the whole family. While everyone is hiking, volunteer chefs back at the picnic area will be preparing a delicious breakfast that will be ready to serve when the hungry hikers return. Registration, beginning July 28, and a food contribution (given when registered) are required. Codrington Picnic Area Shelterhouse is located off White Oak Lane in Bradley Woods Reservation, off Bradley Road in Westlake. For more information and to register, call 440-734-6660.

    Fun with Food!

    Tuesday, August 19 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Garfield Park Nature Center Garfield Park Reservation

Come out and play in the kitchen. Each child will serve as a special prep chef. They will prepare their own portion of the meal, while learning about the importance of vegetables and fruits. While the food is cooking, we'll take a forest hike to work up a nice appetite. This program is for kids ages 9 to 13. Registration, by August 17, is required. Garfield Park Nature Center is located off the Broadway Avenue entrance of Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights.  For more information and to register, visit clevelandmetroparks.com or call 216-341-3152.

    Dinner & a Chat: Walleye

    Friday, August 22 6:30 - 8 p.m.

CanalWay Center Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

Enjoy a walleye dinner from Maple Heights Catering and a chat with Cleveland Metroparks Aquatic Biologist and fishing expert Mike Durkalec. As a fish biologist and avid fisherman, he can tell you all about walleye. Registration, beginning August 1, and $25 fee are required. CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights.  For more information or to register, visit clevelandmetroparks.com or call 216-206-1000.
