Enjoy the seasonal beauty and the health benefits of an invigorating mid-winter hike in Cleveland Metroparks. Hikes this time of year are quiet, peaceful and the snow covered landscape can be breathtaking. Get your heart pumping and mind cleared with a winter walk in the woods.
If you have never tried a winter hike, or if you're an experienced winter walker, there are four great hiking opportunities throughout Cleveland Metroparks on Sunday, February 23 - each led by a naturalist.
TOWPATH DOG WALK
9:30 - 10:30 a.m.
CanalWay Center parking lot � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation � Cuyahoga Heights
Join Cleveland Metroparks naturalist Jen Brumfield for a two mile hike on the Lower 40 Loop Trail with your four-legged friend. Canines and humans will get their dose of daily exercise and socialization. CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights. Walk for Wildlife

Rocky River Nature Center � Rocky River Reservation
Naturalist Jen Brumfield leads a 3.5 mile wintry hike through the forests of Rocky River Reservation. While hiking and getting a winter workout, investigate signs of wildlife by seeking tree cavities for owls and searching the snow for animal tracks. E.O. Wilson Taking Action Hike

Watershed Stewardship Center parking lot � West Creek Reservation � Parma
Adults are invited to join a naturalist Tim Krynak on a 2.5 mile hike through the woods of West Creek Reservation and explore its vast biodiversity. Following the hike, we'll discuss the writings of conservation biologist E.O. Wilson and his thoughts on how everyone can take action to save Earth's biodiversity. Winter Wildlife Around The Lake

Hinckley Lake Boathouse � Hinckley Reservation
Spend the afternoon with Cleveland Metroparks naturalist Kelly McGinnis on a 3.5 mile hike around the 90-acre Hinckley Lake. While hiking, search for wildlife and signs of wildlife that call Hinckley Lake home.
