Old Man Winter can really pack a punch! The recent polar vortex knocked out Northeast Ohio with a jab of subzero temperatures and an uppercut of bitter wind chill. And there's sure to be more blustery winter weather on the way. Go toe-to-toe against winter at Cleveland Metroparks Fight the Frost Festival on Saturday, February 15 from noon to 4 p.m. at CanalWay Center in Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation in Cuyahoga Heights. Fight the Frost Festival lets families get the upper hand on winter by enjoying an afternoon of frosty fun activities both inside and outside. Folks can try snowshoeing, go on a winter hike led by a Cleveland Metroparks naturalist, watch a frosty winter weather science experiment with naturalist Doug Kusak, warm up by a fire pit and roast marshmallows.Inside CanalWay Center, fun activities include carpet skating, Naturepiece Theatre's Coping with the Cold puppet shows, and learning how to use binoculars for bird watching. Plus, create a make-n-take craft, frost a cookie, warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or chill out with a tasty snow cone.
