Neighborhood residents, and anyone interested in learning more about what's been happening in the six lakefront parks acquired by Cleveland Metroparks last summer, are invited to attend one of two community update meetings in March.
The first meeting will take place from 4:30-6 p.m., Tuesday, March 4 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 6928 Detroit Ave., in Cleveland's Gordon Square district, primarily to discuss Edgewater Park in Cleveland Metroparks Lakefront Reservation.
The second meeting is set for 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday, March 6 at the Collinwood Recreation Center, 16300 Lakeshore Blvd., in Cleveland's Collinwood neighborhood, where the topics will focus on Gordon Park and the East 55th Street Marina in the Lakefront Reservation and Euclid Beach Park, Wildwood Park and Villa Angela Park in Euclid Creek Reservation.
Each meeting will be set up with multiple information stations for guests to visit, ranging from operations and park infrastructure to programming and events, natural resources, safety and security and future planning/ongoing community engagement. Cleveland Metroparks staff members will be on hand to answer questions.
Cleveland Metroparks acquired six lakefront parks from the City of Cleveland in summer 2013, consisting of 455 acres along 14 miles of Lake Erie shoreline. As part of the 99-year lease agreement, the Park District took over management of Edgewater Park, the East 55th Street Marina, Gordon Park, Euclid Beach Park, Villa Angela Park and Wildwood Park.
The meetings are presented by Cleveland Metroparks in partnership with LAND studio. For more information, visit clevelandmetroparks.com or call 216-635-3200.
