    Keep your 2015 New Year's resolutions on track with a Cleveland Metroparks nature hike

    Almost
    15 percent of New Year's resolutions focus on taking up an exercise
    program. This January, many people will be looking for ways to get
    outside and get moving. Don't let the weather stand in your way! Join
    Cleveland Metroparks throughout January on one of our many nature walk
    exercise opportunities.


     


    Looking for a way to get out in the snow? Embrace the season with an invigorating snowshoe hike. Snowshoe hikes
    are at 9:30 a.m. on January 3, 17, 31 and February 7, 21 in North
    Chagrin Reservation. The snowshoes and hot cocoa are provided all for
    the price of $15.


     


    If
    you prefer traditional hiking, Cleveland Metroparks offers
    naturalist-led hikes throughout the month. Head to Bedford Reservation
    for a
    Winter Wander at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 3; this hike aims to get your heart pumping while you traverse four miles of winding trails. Resolution Solution
    on Saturday, January 10 at 10 a.m. is a fast-paced hike that follows
    Bradley Woods Reservation's trails through the forest, field and old
    sandstone quarry.
    Extreme Hiking
    at 9 a.m. on Saturday, January 24 is a brisk hike that will hit five to
    eight miles of Brecksville Reservation's rolling trails. A
    Winter Walk
    closes out the month on Saturday, January 31 at 2 p.m. Hikers can look
    for winter-loving wildlife while taking in spectacular views of the
    frozen Lake Erie coastline; meet at the Lakefront Management Offices,
    8701 Lakeshore Blvd NE, Cleveland, OH 44108.


     


    Your
    furry friend could use some fresh air, so make sure to bring your dog
    out for some activity! On Saturday, January 10, you and your pup can
    enjoy a
    Snowy Weather Dog Walk in Big Creek Reservation or the Frosty Paws Dog Walk
    at 2 p.m. in Brecksville Reservation. Cleveland Metroparks offers
    additional dog hikes as well, head to North Chagrin Reservation at 2
    p.m. on Saturday, January 17 and visit Euclid Creek Reservation at the
    same time on Saturday, January 31.
