    CLEVELAND METROPARKS CONNECTS THE NATURE WORLD WITH HALLOWEEN FAMILY FUN

        What goes bump in the night? Could it be a spider, owl or bat? Find out what lurks in the forest by attending Cleveland Metroparks nature-themed Halloween programs. Programs range from a night hike followed by a spooky campfire to a hands-on pumpkin carving class.


    Spooky Campfire

    Saturday, October 26 � 7 - 8:30 p.m.

    North Chagrin Nature Center � North Chagrin Reservation

    Begin the evening with a one mile hike and discover which animals go bump in the forest at night. Finish the evening around a campfire roasting marshmallows and sharing a favorite spooky story. North Chagrin Nature Center is located off Buttermilk Falls Parkway, off the Sunset Lane entrance of North Chagrin Reservation, off SOM Center Road/Route 91 in Mayfield Village.     Black & Orange Hike

    Saturday, October 26 � 1 - 2:30 p.m.

    Rocky River Nature Center � Rocky River Reservation

    With Halloween on the way, see what plants and animals can be found that have the colors black and orange. Take a short hike to look for wildlife, and then make a spooky Halloween craft. Registration is required and begins October 1. Rocky River Nature Center is located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted.     Orange And Black

    Sunday, October 27 � 1 - 2:30 p.m.

    Rocky River Nature Center � Rocky River Reservation

    Join Naturalist Min Keung for some Halloween nature fun. Learn about the wonderful world of orange and black critters like wooly bear caterpillars and monarch butterflies.  Registration is required and begins October 1.  Rocky River Nature Center is located at 24000 Valley Parkway in Rocky River Reservation, north of Cedar Point Road in North Olmsted.     Pumpkin Carving

    Sunday, October 27 � 10 - 11:30 a.m. OR 1:30 - 3 p.m.

    Garfield Park Nature Center � Garfield Park Reservation

    Have a mess of fun while carving a pumpkin at the nature center. The paint, pumpkin patterns and safety carving knives will be provided. B.Y.O.P., bring your own pumpkin! Registration by October 25 is required. Space is limited. Garfield Park Nature Center is located off Mill Creek Lane, off the Broadway Avenue entrance of Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights.     Pumpkin Carving 101

    Wednesday, October 30 � 6:30 - 8 p.m.

    Brecksville Nature Center � Brecksville Reservation

    Bring your own pumpkin to Brecksville Nature Center and learn how to carve a masterpiece. All carving tools, pumpkin patterns and refreshments are provided. Space is limited. Registration beginning October 1 and $2 fee per person are required. Brecksville Nature Center is located off Chippewa Creek Drive, off the Route 82 entrance of Brecksville Reservation in Brecksville. For registration visit clevelandmetroparks.com.
