Enjoy the holly, jolly, holiday season this year during December Days at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, and make memories with your family that will last much longer than your kids' interest in the latest video game!

December Days activities are free with Zoo admission and are set from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. December 16-30 (closed Christmas Day), including holiday crafts, live music, cookie decorating and more.

A holiday memory that's sure to last is a special visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Zoo's Wolf Wilderness lodge (through December 24)! The cabin's glowing fire sets just the right mood for holiday cheer as the kids get their picture taken with Santa and check out the Mexican gray wolves and the grown-ups browse the special pop-up Santa Shop for unique fair trade gift ideas.

Outside the cozy lodge at Wolf Wilderness, guests can visit the other cold weather loving animals of Northern Trek including the bears, tigers and reindeer. When it's time for another warm up, the Zoo's complimentary heated tram can whisk you to the Primate, Cat & Aquatics Building to check out the gorillas, lemurs, sharks and more.

The elephants will be waiting to greet you in the state-of-the-art African Elephant Crossing exhibit where you can also see naked mole rats and an African rock python, the koalas spend the winter in GumLeaf Hideout and of course, no winter visit to the Zoo is complete without a walk through The RainForest, where it's 80 degrees, 365 days a year.

Northeast Ohio's most-visited year-round attraction, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. From November 1 through March 31, 2014, admission is discounted to $8.25 per person, $5.25 for kids ages 2 to 11 and is free for children younger than 2 and Zoo members. Parking is free. Residents of Cuyahoga County and Hinckley Township enjoy free Zoo admission on Mondays. Located at 3900 Wildlife Way, the Zoo is easily accessible from Interstates 71, 90 and 480.
