Be the best babysitter on the block with American Red Cross Babysitter Training. Cleveland Metroparks is offering training to young people, ages 11 to 15 years old, on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cleveland Metroparks Ranger Training Center in Mill Stream Run Reservation in Strongsville.
Participants will learn the necessary skills and gain confidence to safely and responsibly care for children and infants through hands-on activities, interactive videos and lively discussions.
The program teaches new babysitters:
- Caring for children and infants
- CPR/First Aid
- Making good decision and solving problems
- Keeping the children they babysit and themselves safe
- Handling emergencies such as injuries, illness and household accidents
- Writing a resume and interview for jobs
The fee is $70. Ledge Pool season pass holders receive a reduced rate of $50.
Registration is required by June 12. Space is limited.
