    FROM DIRT TO DINNER, LEARN ALL ABOUT THE JOURNEY TO YOUR TABLE AT CLEVELAND METROPARKS "FARM & GARDEN DAY"

        Don't miss your chance to get your hands dirty, pet the animals and have a good old time

    at Cleveland Metroparks �Farm & Garden Day� event on Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to

    4 p.m. at Garfield Park Nature Center in Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights.



        �Farm & Garden Day� is a free event featuring the journey of getting fresh food from dirt to the dinner table.  Enjoy a day �down-on-the-farm� with vendors and exhibitors, live farm animals, games and more!


        Local vendors will have products available from farmers and items that can be used in a garden.


        Vendors and exhibitors include Amish Home Craft & Bakery, Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, Cleveland Clinic, Garfield Heights Historical Society, Green Triangle Permaculture Design, Spring Mist Farms and more.


        Free tasting stations of popcorn and hand-churned butter and children's activities will be going on all day. Horse-drawn wagon rides are available for $2 per person.


        Presentations include: Beginning Beekeeping at 11:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Container Vegetable Gardening at 1 and 3:15 p.m. Gardeners can also visit the heirloom plant sale.


        Refreshments will be available for purchase.


        Garfield Park Nature Center is located off the Broadway Avenue entrance of Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights - north of the I-480/Broadway Avenue exit.
