Cleveland Metroparks presents a Pedaling for a Purpose program series. In these fun programs, Historical Interpreter/Naturalist Foster Brown leads a bicycle journey for the purpose of promoting health, wellness and learning cultural and natural history in and beyond the Park District.

These rides, named Biking the Back Roads for rides out of the Park District and Tour de Emerald Necklace for rides in the Park District, are geared for the dedicated rider, but not at a fast pace. Each ride will average 35 to 40 miles with periodic stops at spots of interest.

Pedaling for a Purpose program dates include:

        Biking the Back Roads -

May 29 - Kokosing Gap Trail

October 19 - Geauga County Amish Ride

        Tour de Emerald Necklace -

June 29 - Rocky River Reservation

July 27 - Mill Stream Run Reservation

August 13 - Brecksville and Bedford reservations

September 28 - South Chagrin and North Chagrin reservations

Each group ride is from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and has volunteers assisting. For details about each ride, see the Emerald Necklace monthly publication or visit clevelandmetroparks.com.

Registration is required for these free rides by calling 440-786-8530. Space is limited.

Pedal with a Purpose by enjoying one or all of these amazing rides from Cleveland Metroparks - Discover, Enjoy, Protect!
