    Spring is here! Grass is peeking up from the ground and animals are beginning to wake up from their winter sleep. Take a moment to shake off the cabin fever and stretch your muscles and your brain with these natural �I-Spy� hunt programs in Cleveland Metroparks.


        The free �hunt� programs in April include:


    Hunt of the Month: Caterpillars

    April 1 through 30 � 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., daily

    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    This month look for insects to be crawling and flying all around. Stop by CanalWay Center to find the 20 hidden caterpillars. Also visit the butterfly garden throughout the season. CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights.     Wildflower scavenger hunt

    April 1 through 30 � 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m., daily

    Garfield Park Nature Center � Garfield Park Reservation

    Wander through the nature center during the month of April in search of Ohio's native wildflowers. Learn how to recognize these spring beauties and then use this skill to spot them in the reservation. Garfield Park Nature Center is located off Mill Creek Lane, off the Broadway Avenue entrance of Garfield Park Reservation in Garfield Heights.  For more information, call 216-341-3152.



    UnNatural Trail

    Tuesday, April 2 � 2 - 4 p.m.

    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    There is a spring trail of �unnatural� items around CanalWay Center. Visit the center for a list of what to look for while walking the trail. Items will be camouflaged to blend in with nature. CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights.     Spring Break Scavenger Hunt

    Thursday, April 4 � 10 a.m. - noon

    CanalWay Center � Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

    Bring the family to CanalWay Center to pick up instructions for this scavenger hunt. Then, take a springtime stroll on the Towpath Trail while following the clues. Complete the hunt to receive a reward. Registration, beginning April 1, is required. CanalWay Center is located on Whittlesey Way, off the East 49th Street entrance of Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation, between Grant Avenue and Canal Road in Cuyahoga Heights.
